Dusk

Dusk begins to gather in my room
Settling on my book and empty tea cup
I go to close the windows in the gloom
And a bird calls from a distant garden.

Travels by Bicycle

The sun is in the sky, the eternal clouds drift by, fish are in the loch, deer in the woods and the mountains have not yet been named.

Late Autumn Colours

“And stepping westward seemed to be
A kind of heavenly destiny”

From ‘Stepping Westward'
By William Wordsworth (1770 – 1850)

Wednesday was a beautiful day in Scotland and I took advantage by walking around Loch Ard in the sunshine. The pictures show:

Loch Ard looking west towards Ben Lomond
Kinlochard at the far end of Loch Ard
Early morning in the Loch Ard forest

I hope the sun is shining wherever you may be.

Purple and White; Green and Orange

Today I walked through Glasgow Botanic Gardens where it is summer all year long and by the River Kelvin where summer has now ended. The autumn clouds at sunset were the colour of fire. I trudged through golden leaves towards winter, a cup of cocoa warming in my thoughts.

Travels By Bicycle

I felt inspired this evening and so I went off on my bicycle in search of beauty
I went by the canal in whose waters the world was painted anew in fresher more artistic colours as in the mind of an artist. Looking up I saw these red leaves in the sunshine. Beauty they said, can be art can be thought can be understanding.
